Over $22,000 lost from OTA

Thank you to all of you who make school attendance a priority, and assure your child/children is at school on time, every day. Unfortunately, OTA lost $22,117.98 in revenue due to student absences, in the 1st quarter alone. Our attendance percentage was 96.3% for the 1st quarter, with a chronic absenteeism rate(absent 10% of the school year, or more) of 7%. As a public charter school, all funds are extremely important to be able to continue to provide the unique programs and educational experiences that OTA provides. This includes those “extra” things like a full time p.e. teacher, a full time music teacher, an award-winning robotics program, STEM in the upper grades, a part-time art teacher, a part-time Spanish teacher, and more! Thank you for all you do in making sure your children are healthy and getting plenty of sleep each night. In addition, thank you for scheduling appointments early or late in the day, so students can still attend school and not miss the entire day.  🙂
