Education Specialist - Kirsten Ramirez
Education:Ms. Ramirez graduated from Cal State East Bay with a B.A. in American History with an emphasis on Early Colonial America. She then received a scholarship to attend Loyola Marymount University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Special Education and an education specialist credential.
Experience: During her time in undergrad Ms. Ramirez worked as an academic tutor for Alameda County Foster Youth, for kindergartners through 12th graders. After graduating from CSUEB, Ms. Ramirez was admitted into the Teach For America Program where she simultaneously taught High School Math and Science Special day class as well as leadership development, all while earning her graduate degree. Ms. Ramirez then transferred to a middle school in Oakland, California where she taught all core subjects to a core of students in special day class. Ms. Ramirez then moved back to her hometown of San Diego to be closer to her family and has been working at OTA ever since!
Hobbies: When not writing IEP’s, Ms. Ramirez enjoys hiking, hanging out with her dog, reading books, going to the beach, swimming, and kickboxing.

Fun Facts: Ms. Ramirez is from Escondido California. She has a dog and a cat, and has a very cool collection of elephants.
