3rd Grade - Jennifer Ciampa
Education: Mrs. Ciampa attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA where she changed her major many times and finally wound up where she originally started-Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Psychology. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Teaching Credential while there. She also received various certifications in teaching second language learners from UC Santa Cruz. Just recently, she graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition earning certification as a Holistic Health Coach.
Teaching Experience: Mrs. Ciampa taught in Los Angeles for a year before moving up to Northern California. She was an art teacher at a visual and performing arts summer school in the Santa Cruz mountains and taught 2nd-5th grades (3rd her most favorite) in Santa Clara. After 10 years in Northern California, she and her husband moved down to San Diego where she taught 4th grade in Rancho Santa Fe. After the birth of her daughter, she left the classroom and was a coach and mentor to new teachers for 3 years. After a decade of raising her kids, she's happy to be back in the classroom!
Hobbies: Hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, watching her daughter play softball and her son play soccer, and planning family adventures near or far.
Favorite Books/Things to Read: James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl, Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Survival stories and books that make you think are her favorites.
Favorite Subject in School: Art and Writing
Fun Fact: Mrs.Ciampa summited Mt.Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48 states, with her husband and a few of his friends. She out hiked all of the boys and will never forget the looks on their faces when they saw her waiting for them at the top.
