National History Day Competition Winners

This past weekend Mrs. Fernandez took a few middle school students to the National History Day Competition.  National History Day is a history competition for students grades 4-12 that takes place all over the United States. Students choose a topic that relates to the yearly theme.  This year was “rights and responsibilities in history.” Students research, create a project, and are interviewed on the topic they chose.  Adelaide Lenz participated in the exhibit category this year. Amelia Rodriguez and Rainna Tung competed in the performance category. Amelia and Rainna have advanced to the state competition in Sacramento in May and will represent Old Town Academy and San Diego County at the state competition!  Please congratulate them if you see them.
