Notes from the Parent Foundation
I am going to kick off this week’s newsletter with a focus on our Core Value for the month, Diligence. Diligence is defined as careful and persistent work or effort. Which feels like a great segway into an important and timely topic, Volunteering! Each week we highlight some critical volunteer needs and we have had a few parents step up and are making a huge difference. At OTA, we believe that volunteers play a vital role in our school's success. We encourage every family to contribute 40 hours of their time annually to support OTA. There are various volunteer opportunities available, including joining the Board, OTA Parent Foundation, or a variety of subcommittees. Outside of school hours, OTA welcomes your volunteer efforts whenever you can spare the time. We have a long list of volunteer opportunities for this as well.

My challenge to all families this month is if you haven’t volunteered yet, please check out our list of options or reach out to me directly to share with me your talents and passions and we will create a custom opportunity for you! We are working on details for some new volunteer rewards and incentives this year, so come early and volunteer often!
Jog a thon is fast approaching! We will need plenty of volunteers the day of, but more importantly, right now, we need to get more of our students involved and signed up!

Last call for BookFair - it has been a smashing success and thanks to all the families that came out and supported it. We will announce our grand totals soon, but right now, if you didn’t make it to the Fair, it’s not too late! Our fair it officially open till Oct 8. Don’t forget to spend your Book Fair eWallet balance. There are still some funds left to use.
